The HK VP9A1 L is a long-slide 9mm pistol with a 5-inch polygonal barrel and a 15+1 capacity. It has a black polymer grip system, a striker-fired action and a trigger safety. A Vortex Defender ST red dot comes factory-mounted on the optics-ready slide. The barrel uses six grooves with a right-hand 1-in-9.8-inch twist. The pistol weighs 26.56 ounces, measures 7.34 inches overall and ships with two magazines.

The long slide gives a 7.2-inch sight radius, which suits competition shooters, range users and anyone who prefers an extended sight picture. The trigger breaks at about 5.4 pounds with a 0.12-inch reset, a setup that rewards careful shot placement. The pistol is a practical choice for range practice where a ready-to-shoot optic is wanted from the start.
