The Heckler & Koch VP9A1 K is a compact 9mm semi-automatic pistol with a 4-inch barrel, a 15+1 capacity and a black finish. Its polymer grip accepts four interchangeable backstraps and replaceable side panels. The pistol comes with a Holosun SCS Super Green optic, standard front and rear sights, two magazines, ambidextrous controls and a flared magazine well. It weighs 25.8 ounces and measures 6.9 inches overall.

For a buyer who wants a compact 9mm already set up with a red dot, this configuration covers the basics. Concealed carry, home defense and range work all depend on a sight picture that comes up fast, and the factory optic provides that out of the box. Shooters with different hand sizes can adjust the grip to fit, and the ambidextrous controls suit both left- and right-handed use.
