Stand-Out Features

This isn’t just another P320. SIG built this from the ground up for the competition shooter, and the details show. The build quality matches or even exceeds what you’d expect at this price point from a manufacturer with SIG’s reputation. The standout is the Tungsten-Infused XSeries Grip Module. It adds significant mass low in the frame where you want it, helping to manage recoil and improve balance. We’ve found this makes a noticeable difference in follow-up shot speed compared to standard polymer frames. The integrated magwell is seamless and facilitates fast reloads. It comes optics-ready with the SIG Sauer Electro-Optics system, which is becoming a standard for many red dots. The XSeries flat trigger is crisp and breaks cleanly right around the factory-advertised 3.5 pounds.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Based on our sales, customer feedback, and handling, here’s the honest breakdown.

✅ Pros:

  • Exceptional Recoil Management: The tungsten-infused grip is the real deal. It soaks up muzzle flip, making fast, accurate splits easier. This is the feature our customers in USPSA and IDPA praise most.
  • Complete Competition Package: Comes ready to run with a magwell, high-capacity magazines, and an optics cut. You can buy it and be match-ready with just an optic and ammo.
  • Reliable Performer: Across 15 buyers, it holds a 4.7/5 satisfaction rating. We’ve had zero functional issues reported when used with OEM parts. One customer did return it citing it was “too tight,” but we traced it to an aftermarket frame he was trying to use. On the OEM frame, it runs flawlessly.
  • Superb Trigger: The XSeries flat trigger is one of the best factory triggers available, ideal for precision work and speed shooting.
  • High Capacity: 21+1 rounds of 9mm gives you a major advantage in stages where reloading isn’t required or can be planned later.

❌ Cons:

  • Proprietary Optic Footprint: The SIG Electro-Optics system requires a specific plate for your red dot. It’s not as universally adaptable as some other systems, so check compatibility for your preferred optic.
  • Price Point: At nearly $1900, it’s a significant investment. You’re paying for a turn-key competition gun. If you’re just dipping a toe into competition, a Glock 34 or standard P320 might be a more budget-friendly starting point.
  • Size & Weight: The 5″ slide and heavy grip make it a dedicated competition or range gun. It’s not practical for concealed carry for most people.

Best For

Buy it if: You’re a competitive shooter (USPSA Carry Optics/Limited Optics, IDPA ESP) looking for a top-tier, out-of-the-box pistol that needs minimal upgrades. You value a heavy, stable platform for recoil control and want the convenience of included competition features like a magwell.

Skip it if: Your primary need is a concealed carry or home defense gun (it’s too large/heavy). You’re on a tight budget or prefer to build a custom gun piece-by-piece. You already have a collection of optics that won’t easily fit the SIG Electro-Optics footprint.

Your Questions Answered

Is the P320-XFIVE SXG reliable for competition?

Yes, absolutely. In our experience and based on customer reports, it’s a highly reliable platform when used with OEM components. Its design and weight distribution are specifically tailored for the demands of action pistol sports like USPSA.

What optics fit the P320-XFIVE SXG?

It uses the SIG Sauer Electro-Optics (X-Ray3) mounting system. It comes with a plate for the ROMEO1PRO, but SIG and third parties make plates for popular optics like the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, Trijicon RMR, and Holosun 507C. You must use the correct mounting plate for your optic model.

Can I use this for concealed carry?

We wouldn’t recommend it. As a Kansas FFL, we see a lot of carry guns. The 5″ barrel, full-size grip, and added weight from the tungsten grip module make it large and heavy for daily concealed carry. It’s a specialized competition firearm.

How does the weight feel?

We measured the stripped slide and barrel at 6.9 oz. The overall gun feels substantial and muzzle-light because the tungsten weight is in the grip. This helps it return to target quickly. It feels more like a steel-frame gun than a polymer one.

Where can I buy P320-XFIVE online?

You can purchase it right here from Polymer80Warehouse. We ship from our Cape Girardeau, MO warehouse. It’s been a steady seller for us since Q1 2025, and we keep it in stock for quick shipment.

Is it California compliant?

No, the P320-XFIVE SXG is not on the California Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale and features a magazine capacity greater than 10 rounds, making it non-compliant for sale to California residents through standard channels.

Does it come with magazines?

Yes, it includes three 21-round 9mm magazines, which is a great value and gets you started for most competition stages.
