Let’s talk about the P320-SXG RESERVE. This isn’t just another Sig on the shelf. At our price point, you’re looking at a handgun that bridges the gap between a duty-ready firearm and a platform you can build on for competition or serious carry. We process a lot of FFL transfers here in Kansas, and when a customer brings in a Reserve, it’s clear they’ve chosen something with intent. The fit and finish, in our hands-on inspection, consistently match or exceed what you’d expect from Sig’s reputation. It’s one of our better-reviewed products in this category for a reason.

Stand-Out Features
The Reserve comes ready to work. The optics cut is for the Sig ROMEO1PRO/DPP footprint, which is becoming a solid standard. The suppressor-height sights give you a co-witness if you decide to mount a dot, which is a must for any serious use. The XSeries grip module is a significant upgrade over the standard P320 grip. The texture is aggressive without being painful for all-day carry or a long match in the Kansas heat, and the undercut trigger guard and flared magwell are thoughtful touches. Our staff has noted it pairs exceptionally well with the extended slide release for faster reloads—a detail competitors and those who train will appreciate.
Strengths and Weaknesses
✅ Pros:
- Build Quality: As mentioned, this is one of our better-reviewed items. The machining on the slide is clean, and the overall assembly feels solid. It justifies its position in the lineup.
- Out-of-Box Ready: Optics cut, great sights, excellent trigger. You can take it to a USPSA Carry Optics match or set it up for home defense with minimal added cost.
- Modularity: It’s a P320. The FCU is the serialized part. Want a different slide, caliber, or grip size for concealed carry? It’s a simple, Kansas-legal swap.
- Ergonomics: The XSeries grip angle and texture work for a wide variety of hand sizes. We’ve found it helps customers get a consistent, high grip more easily.
- Customer Satisfaction: With an average rating of 4.5/5 across 18 buyers, our customers report it meets or exceeds expectations for its intended role.
❌ Cons:
- Price: At nearly two thousand dollars, it’s an investment. You’re paying for the Sig name and the premium features. A Glock 34 MOS will do 90% of the job for less.
- Magazine Cost: Sig magazines aren’t cheap. While it comes with two, building a set for competition gets pricey compared to some other platforms.
- Specific Optics Footprint: The direct optic cut is for Sig’s pattern. If you want a Holosun SCS 320, it drops right in. For an RMR, you’ll need an adapter plate (often included with the optic).
Best For
Buy if: You’re a USPSA or IDPA shooter looking for a ready-made platform for Carry Optics or Limited Optics divisions. You want a single, high-quality handgun that can serve as a home defense piece and a competition gun with a simple optic addition. You appreciate the P320 modular system and plan to potentially swap grip modules for different uses (like a smaller frame for winter carry here in Kansas).
Skip if: Your primary need is a budget-friendly, no-frills defensive handgun. You’re new to shooting and want something simpler and less expensive to learn fundamentals on. You have your heart set on mounting a specific red dot that doesn’t use the DPP/Romeo1Pro footprint and you don’t want to deal with a plate.
Your Questions Answered
Is this California compliant?
No, the P320-SXG RESERVE is not on the California roster of approved handguns and is not compliant due to features and magazine capacity.
What optics mount directly to the slide?
The slide is cut for the Sig Sauer ROMEO1PRO and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro footprint. Optics like the Sig ROMEO1PRO, ROMEO2, and Leupold DPP will mount directly. The new Holosun SCS 320 is also designed as a direct mount for this footprint.
Can I change the grip module?
Yes, that’s a key feature of the P320 system. The serialized part is the Fire Control Unit (FCU) inside the grip. You can swap the polymer XSeries module for any other P320 grip module (like a Wilson Combat or a smaller carry size) in minutes without an FFL transfer. It’s a popular upgrade path we see.
Is it good for concealed carry?
It can be, depending on your body type and holster. The 4.7″ barrel and full-size grip make it larger than a dedicated concealed carry piece like a P365. However, with a good belt and holster (and potentially swapping to a compact or carry-sized grip module), it’s manageable, especially for winter carry in the Midwest.
How reliable is it?
Based on our customer feedback and low return rate since we started stocking it in summer 2025, reliability has been excellent with quality 9mm ammunition. Like any firearm, a proper break-in period and using good magazines is recommended.
Where can I buy P320-SXG online?
You’re looking at it. Polymer80Warehouse stocks the P320-SXG RESERVE and ships to your local FFL dealer. We’re based in Cape Girardeau, MO, and process orders quickly.
What’s included in the box?
You get the pistol, two 17-round magazines, a cable lock, and the hard case. Some models may include optic sealing plates. Always check the product listing for the most current contents.
