What ammunition does it run best with?
Based on our staff’s extensive handling, this platform runs flawlessly with standard 115gr and 124gr FMJ range ammunition. We did note one isolated hiccup during testing with a specific 147gr subsonic load, but 147gr defensive rounds have shown no issues. For optimal reliability, stick with quality factory ammo.
Is this the complete firearm or just a frame?
This listing is for the complete, serialized P320 COMPACT Fire Control Unit (FCU). This is the legally regulated firearm component. It comes installed in a compact-sized polymer grip module. You will need to add a compatible slide assembly, barrel, and recoil spring to have a functioning pistol.
How does the modularity work?
The serialized part is the internal metal FCU. You can remove it from this compact grip module and drop it into any other P320 grip module (Full-Size, Carry, Subcompact) or a compatible aftermarket chassis. You can also pair it with different caliber conversion kits (like .357 SIG or .40 S&W) and slides, all without another background check.
