This is normal and not a functional issue; it simply indicates precise manufacturing tolerances. A drop of oil on the locking lugs and barrel hood is recommended.
Is this a true “drop-in” barrel?
For the vast majority of builds using OEM or aftermarket Glock-compatible slides, yes. It is designed as a direct replacement. We always recommend function-checking any new component. While rare, minor fitting with a file may be required for perfect lockup with certain slide combinations, which is standard for aftermarket precision barrels.
What thread protector or muzzle device do I need?
The barrel has standard 1/2″-28 threads. You will need a thread protector or muzzle device (like a compensator) with that same thread pitch. We sell compatible thread protectors separately.
