Yes, this barrel is designed for the Glock 17 platform. It will function in any completed frame built to Glock 17 specifications, including common 80% frames, provided the locking block and slide are also in spec. Ensure your build is compliant with all applicable laws.
What ammunition do you recommend?
Our experience shows this barrel performs best with standard-pressure 115gr and 124gr FMJ ammunition. We had one isolated hiccup during testing with a specific brand of 147gr subsonic ammo, which may have been related to that particular load’s power factor. For defensive use, always test extensively with your chosen hollow points.
Is the finish durable?
The chameleon finish is a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating, which is significantly harder and more wear-resistant than traditional finishes like Cerakote. It resists holster wear, solvents, and corrosion well. The color-shift effect is in the coating itself and will not rub off.
